Shingeki No Kyojin Sneaker Painting

Description

My first ever attempt at shoe painting! :boogie:

I've seen lots of images 'round the Net of sneakers customized and painted and all, and I thought... COOL! I WANNA DO ONE TOO!

Bad news is, I didn't know where to start. Not even sure what paints I should use. I ended up using acrylic based paints ('cause they're cheap) - the ones used for making tarps and signage and stuff like that. I also got myself a matte gloss finish liquid thingy that you can "paint over the finished work to make it shiny and protect it from the elements" - as what the guy in the paint shop said. And I had to buy some new paint brushes - didn't wanna mess up those that I already have.

So yeah, I finished these during the weekend and am happy with it. Off course, it has to be Shingeki no Kyojin! EREN JAEGER!!! :D And I wore these yesterday and yeah, felt like being the ONLY person (I guess) in the city with these hand painted kicks! YEAH! :headbang: *like a boss* :XD:

I originally wanted to buy a real pair of Vans but f*ck! Those things are PRICEY!!!

I'm still gonna wear these today, but unfortunately, the paint's beginning to peel off around the creases - like sunburned skin (even the primary coat of white I painted beneath is peeling off). :cries: Guess the gloss sealant isn't so effective. Or the paint itself isn't suitable... :tears:

Well! If the paint completely disappears, my shoes would be white again... Which means... I CAN PAINT ON IT AGAIN!!! :headbang:

UPDATE!!!

I actually WASHED these today. They were muddy and all. Good thing the paint still latched on. So I guess the only chipping that'll ever happen on these will be on the creases. Hope the paint last longer though. :D
