Just returned from another summer trip! But it's different this time 'cause I spent it with a group. Travelling with company does have its plus sides (the most important of which is that I can save a lot on lodging). I don't know how I managed to pull off being with other people on that vacation - I guess it was just a lesson of tolerance.
I was with students doing their on the job training in companies at Cebu. Cebu, though industrialized and filled with buildings growing ever higher, is also famous for its natural wonders and pristine beaches, and with the help of a very good friend, he was a Jesuit brother and a true Cebuano, we were able to go on a boat tour around Mactan - an area known for white sand islands and underwater sanctuaries that are perfect for snorkeling and diving.
The best thing about that trip to Mactan is that I finally figured out how to use a damn snorkel! (Thanks bro!) And I've become confident floating on deep water now and I can somehow maneuver along the surface, well, as long as I have a life jacket. I actually don't know how to swim (and I really should learn it!).
It was my first time seeing a real underwater coral reef scenario. Prior to this, I only saw them in nature shows or in books. There's such a difference seeing the real thing. I don't know how many hours I floated on the surface just staring at the busy spectacle below me. The fish were fearless of humans. They even approach you expecting food. Guess they're so used to getting fed, it was a marine sanctuary after all. And we did feed them. We just put out scraps of bread, and they'd swarm you like the paparazzi. Haha!
I did do some solo wandering in Cebu too. I visited far flung Oslob for the white sand bar in Sumilon Island and the majestic Tumalog Falls. I should've gone whale shark watching but I didn't know how to snorkel then. It was only during the Mactan trip that I learned it. And that happened the day after my Oslob trip. Isn't that funny?
So yeah, pretty awesome trip. And as usual, I've posted all the sketches I made and also some paintings in one deviation - here:

Summer Anime
Since it's summer, I have some free time to watch anime, especially the new ones. I’ll just list them down and comment on each. I’m not planning on watching ALL of these ‘til their respective season finales. I just checked on some to see if they’re worth continuing.
1. Oregairu 2
Story: Though it looks like a “romcom”, it really isn’t. It centers around Hikigaya and his twisted outlook on life. His homeroom teacher decides to help “cure” him by forcing him to join a club with another social outcast – the haughty miss perfect, Yukino.
Comments: Been looking forward to this!
Summer Cooking
I discovered this crazy cooking themed anime called Shougeki no Souma. I love cooking anime shows - Cooking Master Boy, Yakitate Japan, Mr. Ajiko. For me, the best thing about them are the funny, over the top reactions to the food. Shougeki no Souma mixed that with sexiness, I mean there's tentacle action in the very first episode. It's really funny.
I got new games too. Got a copy of Under Night In-Birth, an awesome 2D fighting anime game, and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. Bought these during my summer trip. I'll tell more about that with the sketches that I uploaded here: Siquijor Dumaguete Trip :D
Summer ain't over yet! I still have plans t
It's That Season Again!
A shortage of water for many hours everyday, long power outages also everyday, not to mention the HEAT!
Yup. It's summer here in our beautiful place - Asia's Latin City... *sigh*
Holiday Trip
I'm typing this entry right now at a traveler's inn. I'm at Cagayan de Oro as of the moment and will be staying until Tuesday. I'm only here to buy PS3 games at the big malls (there's Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Revolution!)
Before coming here, I returned to Camiguin Island and stayed there for two nights. I've shared to you guys about that place - little piece of land chock full of natural scenery. I even posted paintings of White Island here before. It was the best trip so far since I've stayed longer.
I found a humble little fish pen that was also a restaurant and inn and decided to stay there. You can catch fis

DOMS! Pleaaase come back..
On the side, I'm glad you visited Cebu, especially Mactan! If you ever visit again, I advise Olango island during bird migration season. ^^
